During this tour we will follow the footprints of the gladiators in the most famous arena in the world – the Flavian Amphitheatre –, the original and official name of the Colosseum. Let’s talk about the secrets of its construction and the changes it went through the years.
After a brief passage by the majestic Arch of Constantine, we’ll explore the place where the imperial palace of Rome was built: the Palatine Hill. This intriguing part of the tour will take you through the ruins of the building that used to be the heart of the Roman Empire for centuries. From the top of a breath-taking panoramic terrace, we’ll be able to admire the magnificent Roman Forum which was the political, economic, religious and administrative centre of Ancient Rome.
We will then go down the hill to explore the Forum and the Imperial Fora by taking a closer look at the impressive ruins of its buildings such as temples, courts, and huge columns. We will walk on the same stones and floors where Julius Cesar, Augustus, Nero, the senators, the Vestal Virgins and thousands of common citizens of this mythical city walked on.
